Lake Michigan Admirals Lose 137-133 To The Detroit Hoops

.St. Joseph, MI.- Once again, history was made Saturday night when the Admirals hosted the Detroit Hoops at Lake Michigan Catholic's House of Noise. The Admirals were in complete control going into the second quarter with a huge lead when the crowd and the team saw an amazing dunk by Antonio Griffin. With 9:26 left in the second quarter. guard Jeremy File gave an alley-oop pass to hig h flying forward Griffin who came down with authority and shattered the backboard. "I have never seen anything like that in all of my years of watching basketball," said Ron Franks, season ticket holder from Eau Claire.

There were hundreds of fans on the court taking pictures of the shattered backboard and were amazed at what they witnessed. The game was delayed for only an hour due to the community efforts of Robert Hughes, Jeff Ross, facility manager Tom Strzyzykowski and others. "I loved to see all of the volunteers come together and take down the shattered backboard and repalce it with a new one that quick. That's what the ABA is all about, bringing people together to do good for others," said Owner Chris Glisson. The Admirals were in the lead 43-26 at that point and as much as 30 points at one time in the first half but the Detroit Hoops must have stayed loose because they came out on fire. The Hoops #21 Carr and #7 White both had a game high of 35 points a piece to mount a second half turn around outscoring the Admirals 81-54. In the final seconds Jon'tee Willhite had a chance to tie the game up but missed the three pointer to give the Detroit Hoops the victory in front of a crowd of 400. The final score was Detroit Hoops 137-133 over the Lake Michigan Admirals
